Before you say “Hello”

Fundamental principles to handle people

· DO NOT CRITISEZE THEM
This will only make them defensive and in return will harm you

· EGO
The reason behind every human effort be it charity or robbery
Nobody wants to be a Nobody

· AROUSE ENTHUSIASUM
Appreciate and encourage
Praise them and swell their ego

· DO NOT FIND FAULT
Use the power of appreciation
Everybody is starving for appreciation

· BEWARE OF FLATTERY
Use honest appreciation
Flattery is counterfeit
Flattery is telling the other person precisely what he thinks about himself

· LEARN FROM EVERY EXPERIENCE
In everyman I meet is my superior in someway, In that I learn of him

· TALK IN TERMS OF OTHERS
Do not talk about what you want that is childish
Talk about what everybody else wants
The only way to influence other people is to talk about they want and show them how to get it

· SHOW THE PROFIT AND LOSS
Make people aware of the disadvantages they may incur if they follow any other path

· SECRET OF SUCESS
If there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other persons point of view and see things from that person’s angle as well as from yours

Example 1
If you don’t want your children to smoke, don’t preach at them and don’t talk about what you want. Instead talk in their terms. Show them that cigarettes may keep them from making the basketball team to winning the hundred-yard dash

Example 2
When you want your employees to wear helmets during factory hours, don’t lash at them. Just make them aware of the disadvantages, how fragile the human skull is
